I am a skilled psychodynamic psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience. I offer once-weekly psychotherapy on a time-limited or open-ended basis.
I trained at the WPF, a leading charitable provider of talking therapies, and am a fully accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and follow the BACP Code of Ethics and Good Practice. I also provide counselling in a primary health care setting in an inner London GP Surgery.
I work at the Burma Road Practice on a Monday evening (and see patients from my home consulting room on other days).
Psychodynamic psychotherapy is a type of in-depth therapy that has a long and respected track record. I follow the notion that problems and distress in the present may be related to past experiences.
We all have a tendency to repeat patterns of behaviour, and even though we would like to change, we can feel unable to. I will help you in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space to understand these patterns so that you can develop your own choices and move forward – to move perhaps from feeling a victim of circumstances to a feeling of having more control over your life.
These are some of the issues I work with: depression, loneliness, feelings of emptiness or emotional numbness, bereavement, anxiety, work-related issues, relationship difficulties, difficulties coping with loss or change, anger, destructive patterns of behaviour, guilt and sexual difficulties.
If you feel ready to explore your thoughts and feelings, psychotherapy can bring about deeply therapeutic and long lasting change. Please contact me to arrange an initial session where we will explore your issues and needs.
